Love is built on trust – and good security habits

Valentine's Day is a significant milestone in any relationship. It could be a couple’s first “official” celebration or just another excuse for heart-shaped desserts – but beyond chocolates and candlelit dinners, there’s an even bigger step on the horizon… password sharing. Whether it’s streaming services, food delivery, or travel apps, sharing login credentials is a modern-day sign of trust (or, let’s be honest, an easier way to mooch off your partner’s accounts). After all, what’s a stronger test of trust than sharing your Netflix password and your guilty pleasure watchlist?

No need to panic, though! Bitwarden Cupid Vault has all relationships (and situationships) covered this Valentine’s Day. Newfound lovebirds, longtime partners, or those just keeping things “complicated” can use Bitwarden to easily and securely share logins without constantly texting, “What’s the password again?” Love is built on trust, but so are good security habits. While sharing a DoorDash login might seem like no big deal, sharing passwords the right way helps keep your accounts – and your relationship – safe.

More than half (56%) of people trust their loved ones with streaming account access. But if the romance fizzles faster than a day-old bottle of champagne, Bitwarden makes it easy to revoke an ex’s access entirely – because all’s fair in love and logins.

Product explanation

The Cupid Vault configuration from Bitwarden is available to everyone at no charge. It provides a secure and convenient way to share logins and sensitive information with friends, partners, family, and other loved ones.

This setup makes use of the fully featured free version on Bitwarden, which allows individuals to store and manage unlimited logins across unlimited devices.

In addition, every Bitwarden account comes with the ability to launch a free 2-person shared vault, which Bitwarden calls an Organization. This allows one person to assign logins to a vault that can be shared with another person.

When the first person sets up their shared vault, using the free 2-person Organization, they can invite the second person to see those credentials. And, if circumstances ever change, the first person can stop sharing with the second person at any time.

Of course, the same can happen between the second person and the first.

A bi-direction configuration between two users would look like the following diagram:

Using the Cupid Vault configuration in Bitwarden

With Bitwarden in Cupid Vault Configuration, it is simple and easy for each user to have both a Private Vault and an Shared Vault in an Organization that they can use with another person.

If things ever change, users who start an Organization and invite others can always revoke that invitation. This is indicated by the dashed lines in the diagram, which can be set up and removed as needed to preserve healthy and loving relationships together or apart.
