As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Vault team at Bitwarden, your work will directly impact how users create, organize, and access their most sensitive information across devices and platforms. This role combines the challenge of solving complex problems in distributed systems and user experience at scale. You'll be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of systems that users depend on daily to protect their digital lives.
Working within Bitwarden's open-source ecosystem, you'll collaborate with a passionate community dedicated to transparency and trust in security software while contributing to our mission of making security accessible to everyone.
This is an all-remote team and we’re looking for someone located in the U.S. We do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work collaboratively to break down and implement new features
- Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and well-documented code
- Take ownership of your work, partnering with QA to ensure that the appropriate parts of the application are tested and that tests are complete
- Establish standards and advocate for performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability
- Identify technical debt and collaborate with the team to minimize it
- Direct and support decisions for new frameworks and technical direction
- Review PRs and provide constructive, pointed feedback to help fellow team members grow
- Collaborate with the Bitwarden open-source community to review community contributions and address issues in Github
WHAT YOU BRING TO BITWARDEN
- Extensive experience with .NET Core and C# for backend services
- Experience with Rust for cross-platform SDK development
- Strong proficiency with Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS for front-end development
- Deep understanding of relational database design, optimization, and SQL Server
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement RESTful APIs
- Collaborative and adaptable mindset
- Openness and authenticity combined with excellent communication skills
- Excitement and enthusiasm for open source and for better internet security
- Excellent problem-solving skills – you might not know all the answers, but you know how to find and communicate the solution

In the United States, the starting base compensation range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, relevant experience, and skill set as assessed in the interview process, as well as market data by location. See our careers page for a list of benefits.
