Today, Bitwarden offers passkey management on browser extensions, providing a strong, secure, and passwordless method for logging into websites and apps. And now passkeys are coming to Bitwarden mobile apps in an open beta program for anyone to try and provide feedback on. Read on to learn how to join and get started testing this exciting feature today!

Use passkeys anywhere you go

Passkeys are stronger and more secure than passwords, cannot be guessed, and are resistant to phishing. Since they aren’t a credential you can remember or type in, you need a passkey provider to manage the passkey and initiate authentication processes.

Bitwarden Password Manager creates, stores, and syncs passkeys in a secure vault alongside passwords and other sensitive information, bringing convenience to the inherent strong security of passkeys. With passkey management coming to the Bitwarden mobile apps, in beta today, you can use your saved passkeys anywhere you need to log into apps or websites.

Available now in beta for iOS and Android, you can experience the combined convenience and security of passkeys that are synced across your devices, and help contribute by testing the feature and providing feedback.

How to join the beta program

Instructions for joining the beta program and providing feedback are listed on this community thread.

Apple iOS
For iOS, the program runs through Apple’s TestFlight. You will need to download the TestFlight application from the Apple App Store and join the Bitwarden TestFlight through the posted link in the community forums.

Google Android
For Android, you will need to go into the Google Play Store on your device, navigate to the Bitwarden app, and tap Join in the Join the beta section. Once the Bitwarden application is updated to the beta version, go to Settings > Auto-fill and tap Passkey management to access the Android settings to configure Bitwarden as your passkey provider. Note that your device will need to have Android 14 installed to support creating and using passkeys.

In the initial Android beta release, passkeys for web browsers are supported, with support for apps coming soon in a future beta build
