Install Bitwarden self-host server in just a few steps
Both the AWS AMI and Azure VM image come at no-charge beyond your AWS or Azure subscription costs. They are pre-loaded with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Docker, Docker Compose, and the Bitwarden installation script. When your instance launches, the prerequisites are already in place.
When configuring the VM installation, you will need to:
Create or assign a resource group (Azure) or security group (AWS)
Name the virtual machine
Create a username and SSH key for logging in
Other settings, such as firewall rules, are pre-populated with Bitwarden defaults, and they can be configured to your needs.
After completing the marketplace setup wizard, SSH into the VM and the Bitwarden setup wizard takes you from there.

Configure your Bitwarden server
The setup process is the same as the standard Bitwarden self-host deployment on Linux.
During setup through the console, you will:
Set your domain - have a DNS record pointing to your instance's IP before you begin
Retrieve your installation ID and key from bitwarden.com/host
Configure SSL via Let's Encrypt, an existing certificate, or a self-signed cert for testing
Complete environment configuration for SMTP and other settings
