The end goal isn’t to have zero passwords, says Bitwarden’s passkey expert
"Passwordless.dev is an API service that allows developers to build passkey support into their apps.
If you’re a web developer that wants to add passkeys and help your users sign in securely, faster, and easier, so that they don’t forget their passwords, then passwordless.dev enables you to add that to your app in minutes instead of weeks or months spent researching and building."

It’s been a gradual process to get here. There’ve been advancements in hardware, fingerprint technology, and face recognition…and a lot of work has gone into coming up with the protocols and software to drive this.”

4 Factors You Must Consider When Choosing a Password Manager
"Anders Åberg, director of passwordless at Bitwarden, a leading password manager, sees authentication as a delay before you get where you want to go. In his words, “passkeys remove friction” and thus create a much better user experience—something the service does well, as you can read in my Bitwarden review."

Why MFA alone won’t protect you in the age of adversarial AI
“Approaches like device fingerprinting or geolocation can supplement traditional MFA. These methods adjust security requirements based on user behavior and context — such as location, device or network — reducing friction while maintaining high security.”
